Wireless Router

So I have a wireless router, a cheap one that slows down the other PC in my house when I download stuff. I was wondering if I bought a better router would the connection be faster & also, a guy from next door I know goes to college and was wondering if he could pay me weekly if I gave him access to the internet through the router. Should I do this & What are the risks?

Wireless connections can sometimes be slow depending on how close your router is to your second computer, distance and/or objects blocking the path between the router and computer can slow your connection.

If you do decide to throw out that one, I recommend a “Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster”. Routers are spendy sometimes especially the best ones, so it depends on your budget and Linksys are easy to find and usually affordable. http://www.consumersearch.com/wireless-routers

As far as your friend wanting to pay you for wireless internet, that’s pretty harmless and I wouldn’t worry too much about getting into trouble. I don’t know what would happen if your ISP found out.

GOOD LUCK!
