Who can help with algebra 1 equations?

  1. Find an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through (-3,1) and (-2,-3).

2.determine the slope and y-intercept of the graph of 12+3y=-2x.

3.write the point-slope form of an equation for the line passing through the point at (3,-6) with slope -4/3.

Answer #1

The slope and y-intercept are very easy to determine. Its y=mx=b. You don’t have to solve anything to get it. Just find out which letters are m and which ones are b.

Answer #2
  1. y=mx+b

change the equation to fit the fourmula 12+3y=-2x 3y=-2x-12 y=(-2/3)x-4 m is your slope use this equation to solve for y remember that the y-intercept occurs when x=0

Answer #3

im only gonna solve the first one, try solving the others :)

  1. get the slope first with the formula

m = (y1 - y2) / (x1-x2) m = (1-(-3)) / (-3-(-2) m = 4 / -1 m = -4

now you got the slope, you can solve the equation (since you got x and why values as given). You may use either (-3, 1) or (-2, -3)

y = mx + b 1 = (-4)(-3) + b 1 = 12 + b 1 - 12 = b -11 = b

so, y = -4x - 11

please double check as im not sure if its correct haha
