Just because we give the name Book of Shadows to it doesn’t make it this big huge mystical thing. It’s a personal thing for each practitioner. Some think of it as a spiritual diary. You can put things like dreams you had, spells, meditations, observations, the meanings/uses for stones and herbs, moon cycles, your personal thoughts on what your religion means to you, recipes for food, incense, anything really.

It’s meant to be a guide for you to have and keep and review and refer to. You’re 14 so it’s a safe bet that you will have more than one in your lifetime. So do as you will, so long as it harm none. ;)

frist you should get what you are going to put in it down, and how you going to say it then you should think about that.

A Book of Shadows is really anything you want it to be. Some people used it as a journal for spells really. They write down the date they used spells and the outcome. Others put everything in it, spells, ideas, thoughts, it really can be anything you want. The best way to go about it isto stop worrying that you’re doing it wrong, and just write what you think should go in it. In the end, its YOUR book of shadows :)

My Book is a large old military manual binder, the ones that have those screw shafts in them, I keep my own stuff in there and everything my Mother gives me.

Mine right now is kinda thin cause I’m 14, but when I pass it down to my daughter it will hopefully be thick :)

In my B.O.S I write everything from rituals to recipes to spells to how I felt when I saw the full moon or how I felt when I sat against a large willow tree or when I went for a walk through the forest. I also dry leaves and flowers in there and herbs or little drops of oils. You book of shadows is YOUR book of shadows, and can be filled with anything.
