How do you transfer files with portable hard drives?

how do you use portable hard drives on pc to tranfer files or games .

Answer #1

I simply copy and paste the Icon or Document, into the Jump drive folder…. Then remove the USB device, and when I port it into the next PC, I just pull it out…

Answer #2

If you are talking about external hard drives, then most often the directions come with them.

One such example is that your external hard drive might simply be plugged into your USB port on the back of your computer. If so, then all you will most likely have to do is find your “Windows Explorer” (NOT Internet Explorer) and use it to transfer files to the new hard drive attached to your computer. Simple as that. (Jump drives, of course, are relatively the same thing… just less space on them is all).

If what you are trying to do is use an external hard drive to copy your files, to put those same files on another computer… then make certain first that the next computer uses the same operating system.

Also, quite often when you install programs on your computer, the program will create registry entries that enable the software to run efficiently on your computer. Quite often, simply copying some files from one computer to another will not work. And, of course, as I’m sure you already know, in most cases by virtue of the ULA attached to your software by the manufacturer… it is illegal without proper permission in many cases
