Is it strange for a male teacher to tell a female student they have beautiful eyes?

Answer #1

It’s really hard to say because he could have just said the compliment and meant nothing more than you have nice eyes.

But of course, the darker and seemingly more believable notion is that he’s delivering some kind of elusive message to you (by you I mean whoever was complimented) and is expressing his feelings towards you in the safest way possible.

With that being said, it’s hard to tell without actually having experienced the encounter objectively, like a third person if you will.

As farm as complimenting goes, I don’t see them as unethical because that’s just what they are, a compliment. Any other meaning attached to them by whomever is what’s raising the flags.

Answer #2

Yes, that’s a little creepy, if you ask me. I guess depends how old the student is. Either way, it is unprofessional.

Answer #3

Well, it’s only weird if you construe it like that. It might just be an innocent compliment, I was told by the a teacher that I have a nice style of dressing. Completely innocent.

Answer #4

No, not exactly. He could just be being friendly. It wouldn’t be questionable if a store clerk said i have pretty eyes, so why should it matter that a teacher says it? People assume that all teachers are pedofiles when they say things like that, because they are arounf children all day. When most of them have children of their own… I mean, there’s nothing wrong with a compliment. It’s not like he’s saying you have nice booobs. You know? Idk, i just don’t think that’s wrong. A compliment is a compliment :)

Answer #5

around* ooops.

Answer #6

No. People need to stop trying to put meanings to simple things.

Answer #7

If its a one off compliment, then maybe not really, but if other compliments start following and conversations are steered in certain direction then that’s when you worry
