Is there a way to put yourself in a state of mind where your basically ‘in the zone’ enhancing your speed and such athletics so you feel like you could do basically anything?

In my opinion, in order to feel like you are in the zone you have to intimately know whatever endeavor it is you are undertaking. I like the term “losing oneself.” In athletics it comes across as enhanced reflex, natural intuition, and steadfast concentration. You have to have had enough practice that the muscles themselves retain the memory of what is needed of them. You barely have to think about what is happening… and just let your body behave as it will. It is akin to being a spectator instead of participant. With this clarity of mind you can guide yourself with only a modicum of intention.

I’m not sure that an outside stimulant can achieve this goal. One may give the same clarity of mind… but the muscle recollection would still need to be ingrained.

The only sure way that I know to gain it is as I have stated… lots of practice.

Watch “The Karate Kid”… once you have grown sick of the monotony… you are well underway.

There’s such a thing as ‘in the zone’ but I think it has to happen naturally - you suddenly get the feel - don’t think you can will it.
