Running makes legs bigger?

Hi, I’m 5’10 and about 130 lbs. I’ve ran cross country and track for five years (and am still currently). I’m pretty thin, but my legs will not get smaller. I’ve read advice about running to be the best exercise to slim your legs, but it’s definitely not working for me. I’m wondering if running just makes your legs bigger, just builds muscle you know? I’m still searching for a solution, and wont settle for “bulk up your upper body,” as my upper body is quite fit (I think at least). Just wondering if there’s another way to trim the legs, thanks.

Different people respond to exercise differently. I’ve seen runners with tree trunk thighs and runners next to them who were just as fast on spindly chicken legs.

In either case you are probably worrying about nothing.

umm well I run cross counrty and traack and my thighs I believe are really big and maybe your just like me where your legs just really gain muscle quickly

Answer #3

that’s called muscle, the only way to get rid of that is to stop playing sports and working out… im pretty positive your legs are great (muscular legs are hot, your don’t want chicken legs do you?)

Answer #4

this a old school trick I did to help me lose weight. I tied plastic garbage bags around me every other day and ran I lost the weight. If nothing else cut down on reps of exercise of your legs
