where did God come from?

where did God come from?

Answer #1

heaven:) howevr he has always been there as he is the createar of heaven and earth. HE IS THE beginning AND THE END.

Answer #2

Humans invented the idea of God, and based it at first on local ancient tyrant kings, which is why the god of the Old Testament is such a jerk.

As the age of philosophy arose, people began to realize it really didn’t make sense for every nation and every tribe to have its own god, so they invented a super-god who was the god of the various tribal/national gods - Zeus for example in the Greek pantheon. For the super-god to keep order over all the national gods, he had to have qualities superior to them all; to be kinder, to be more just, to see more and known more. In time, these qualities were taken to the extreme. Once there was a super god who basically made all the other gods seem puny in comparison, he became “The” god, and the prior deities were recast as either angels or demons.

Please understand that I am saying to describe the point of view of my religion. I have faith and this is a faith based answer. So if you do not like the faith based answer simply disregard. I mean no disrespect but my faith is being questioned so I must answer. Calling me a moron will only prove your an a$$.

The reason believers do not believe that he was created is because he would then be a liar. G-d can do many things but one that is impossible is for him to tell a lie. Time of this earth generally is speaking of a beginning and an end, G-d is not of this earth though because G-d created this earth.

The earth was not created in 7 days, it was 6 days. Any Christian or Jew who says otherwise have then placed limits on their “god”. As to how long the day actually was is unknown because G-d is not of earth so he could be going by his own definition of a day. And for the sake of arguing lets say it was a day to humans how can you prove otherwise? Carbon dating has its flaws, weather climate flooding can alter how old somthing appears.

The point is we are trying to use science and the nature of our lives (time and age) and apply them to G-d. There is much that has yet to be discovered with life, but durring these discoverys we must realize that science is written by man who can miscalculate. Wether or not you believe in the bible one fact remains perfectly clear, the bible has always been one step ahead of science. What we believe in now can take a whole new meaning tomorow.

Answer #4

Answer #5

god dosn’t really exist it was just invented for religion and myths, just stories to match the facts, doesn’t make them true. And really doesn’t make a lot of sense esp. with closer analysis.

Answer #6

God came from the minds of humans. Man created God.

Answer #7

“Can I tell my child there’s no God?”

Yes, but you would be better off telling the child, as the child ages, that there are many people who believe in God(s) just as there are many who don’t believe in a God. The child will be exposed to various beliefs from peers, so it behooves you to have answers ready, both pro and con, so the child will realize that it’s all about individual choice.

“Do you believe in God?”

I am a Deist! (One who believes in the existence of a God, but denies revealed religion; a freethinker.)

de·ism (de’iz’?m, da’-) n.

The belief, based solely on reason, in a God who created the universe and then abandoned it, assuming no control over life, exerting no influence on natural phenomena, and giving no supernatural revelation.

“Do you believe in the Bible?”

No!

In contrast to believing in the Bible, I believe:

  1. That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time.

  2. That “Force” created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being.

  3. The spiritual/soul entities continued the “Creation” with the “Big Bang”. And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs.

  4. The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality.

  5. When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth.

  6. The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God.

The Bible is a book of history and guidance for peoples of certain times. The Old Testament was meant for the societies and peoples of ancient times. The New Testament was meant to change much of the Old Testament law and to guide the society and people of two thousand years ago.

The Bible worked during the time periods it was meant to cover. Its guidance protected the people and gave value and purpose to their lives.

The problem is that the Bible was meant for past eras and was successful therein. It, however, did not keep up with the times and technologies during the advancement of mankind.

There may still be some lessons that can be learned from studying the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. But, the lessons must be tempered with the knowledge that exists in the current time period.

Man and his technology has evolved considerably since Biblical times. The Bible has not evolved accordingly. It is therefore the province of man to interpret the whole Bible and attempt to allow its relevant parts to fit into the lifestyles of the current era.

As long as they do not infringe on the rights of others, men are free to follow the teachings of the Bible for themselves. Your rights and beliefs end where mine begin.

The Bible is a “crutch” which is necessary for some but not for all. It is a book written by men with the purpose of helping to guide other men through some of the pitfalls that life has to offer. It is also meant to give hope and purpose to those who may have no other way of finding same.

Just as with other fictional works, it is not meant to be taken literally but parabolically. Parts of its historical accounts may be factual while other parts are symbolic. And, yet other parts are simply devices wherein to protect the health and well-being of people of that era.

It takes many religions to give guidance to those who are in need of direction. Some use the Bible as their basis while others use other Books. They all serve a needed purpose. They all benefit the society of man.

Just because the Bible (or some other Book) is right for you does not mean or make it right for everyone else. The human race is a diverse species. It has many different cultures and Beliefs. Grant to each their right to choose that which fits them.

“You are God. What are you going to do about things?”

Nothing!

I am God but that doesn’t mean that I have to behave by man’s perceptions, rules, desires or comprehensions.

I exist outside of the universe and time. I am not concerned with the evolution of the universe or the activities of mankind.

I created the universe and time at the instant of the “Big Bang” and am content with evolution, and the souls I previously created, to continue the universe according to my purpose.

From my chosen path I stray, Yet my God any’er turns away; For I have learned – and understand, That where God is – is where I am!

“Has God been around forever? And please don’t use the ‘God invented time’ or ‘God is not confined to the laws of time’ excuses. Because I see a few problems with either answer.”

eternal adj.

Being without beginning or end; existing outside of time.

The problems aren’t with either answer but with foundations upon which the questions are based.

Forever doesn’t exist. It is man’s concept because man perceives of time as a “forever” existent.

God exists outside of the universe. God caused the creation of the universe with the instant of the big bang. From that moment time came into being.

Time is finite in going backward but may be infinite in going forward.

Man can’t perceive of the reality in which God IS. By attempting to confine God to our understanding of reality we create the basis for false assumptions.

We are each entitled to our own belief systems. You are entitled to yours and I respect that. In my belief system I don’t accept Jesus and conventional Christian doctrine.

I believe that we are all part of the fabric of God and that we will all eventually gravitate back into the Oneness of God regardless of the errors that may have occurred along our paths back to that Oneness.

We are because God Is. God Is that we are. We all eventually return to God though by varied paths.

What I believe!

I don’t believe in Heaven! I do believe in reincarnation! (Rebirth of the soul in another body.)

I believe that everyone is part of the spiritual composition/soul of God. The purpose of everyone is to go forth into the earth plane and other planes to “experience” and to ultimately gravitate back into the Oneness of God.

Along their paths of experience/knowledge acquisition, many entities (the spiritual particles of God) choose to enter (incarnate/reincarnate) the earth plane with various goals as purpose.

When the entity’s physical body dies the entity goes back to a state or plane of existence where it considers its immediate past. It judges whether it accomplished those goals that it set out to accomplish and determines in which plane and under what circumstances it may need to incarnate in order to accomplish additional goals on its way back to the Oneness of God.

Essentially, the entity is its own judge as to accomplishments, failures, goals and the circumstances under which it chooses to incarnate.

The above is my opinion and is expounded upon in my treatise A Search For Truth:
