Why do your parents care so much about your room being clean?

I mean seriously. My mom doesn’t even go in my room, and her rooms messy, I don’t see why they care how clean YOUR room is.

its not a clean or not clean thing , its a thing that makes your proud for listening to her + acting mature and taking responsibly of some mom works + it’ll give perfect impression for the one’s who come and take a look at ur room , :D

mine was the same way. its because they want you to learn responsibility, and such, i now keep my whole apartment clean because of all the cleaning stuff i learned from her, adn my sister keeps her bedroom cleaned as well. and sometimes, its just a parent thing.

I think part of it is a responsibility thing, some of it is just her making sure you’re growing up and will be ready to live in shared accommodation one day (like with room mates / flat mates etc) - You can’t be messy with other people living there. And also I think it’s a bit of the fact that if you leave your clothes on the floor / food in your room it will attract cockroaches and rats and spiders etc, and if you leave random things on your floor you could hurt yourself, I once stepped on a belt buckle on the floor and the whole metal stick bit that goes in the hole went into my foot! :OOOO

well, my mom is worried about our house looking good.. i have to organize really well.. especially my closet.. im like why would some random person look in my closet that is stupid.. she is like just in case.. keep it clean.. so my room is like so freakin organized it is crazy.. but i am already a neat freak and ocd about cleaning anyway.. but yea.

well if that is the case ur mom should live by example 1st and maybe practie wht she preches but as a good daughter no matter wht u follower ur motheres words right? lol

It’s probably because it is their house and technically it is their room as well so they want all the rooms to be clean, that’s how my mom was too. Haha

because its kind of important. its your mess and you have to clean it up. who else is suppsoe to do it? imagine when your living by yourself, who else is suppose to clean up your mess. th epoint is to teach you to pick up after yourself

everytime my mom comes inn and tells me”family is coming over clean your room” i just stare at her for like a long time to make it awkward then say “oh…i didnt know the gathering was being held in my room?” hahaha
