My dad won't let me have a boyfriend, help?

Ohk, im 14 and and have been dating people behind my parents back. They have never known. My mum knows about it. Just not my dad. My parents split up about 2 years ago and I never see my mum. Like ever!! Have’nt seen her in 1 and a half years. Anyway. Plus my dad does’nt really let me go out anywhere he is always checking up on me and stuff. I’ve never done anything for him not to trust me. Does anyone have any advice? I would like to tell him how I feel about this guy. I want him to know. Im afraid if I do. I won’t be aloud to do anything, im afraid he will completely take away my life. I know him, he would’nt let me socialise with anyone! Like, im 14 already, turning 15 next year and I dont want to be stuck at home all the time..

Dads are always overprotective of their little girls, tell him exactly how you feel and make sure you tell him that you’ve never broken his trust and won’t ever. Also, maybe tell him you want a purity ring (even if you dont want to wait until marriage, it will show him that you aren’t looking to have sex right now). Good luck!

just tell them that he is willing to meet them and show them that he will take care of you and respect you. if they still dont go for it, then im not sure.

well… its caind of tough sience you live whit your dad alone, but my dad is hte same way, sometimes even worser.

I think that yiur dad is just traing to have you not make mistakes in your life, and to just have a good future.

But I would consider you and him going out for an icecream or something and then just talking you know about you feelings, when everything is just relaxing. Let him know how you feel about his over protection and then let him know that you are responsible and as you grow you want to have more freedom!

Then I would bring the boyfriend concept. You can also have a friends mom help you out whit that e.c.t

GOOD LUCK!:)

Honestly, as long as you have an adult you can trust, can really talk to about your boyfriend especially when things get rough, then I would leave the dad alone. I know it’s not ideal. I know your heart longs to be close to your dad. But he is not responsive to your needs as a growing girl. So, that’s his decision. If you were going behind both of your parents’ backs my response would be different. Sounds like you could get your mom to work on your behalf, to drop hints, or to talk to your dad for you just to smooth the path so you could then open up to him.
