How do I lose four pant sizes?

How to drop 4 pant sizes I wear size 40. I’m a male, 230 lbs 5ft, 11in and I want to get back into a 36 waist again and stay there forever

Smaller portions of healthy, natural foods, like wheat, or whole grain breads, pasta, rice and cereals. Fruits and veggies, the fresh kind, not canned. Lean cuts of meats, like skinless chicken, turkey breast, loin type meats and fish. Low fat or skim dairy cheese, yogurts. Beans annd legumes are good sources of protein, minerals and are low fat. Cut out presweetened drinks like soda and drink lots of water throughout the day. If you cut out or lessen the intake of high frcutose corn syrup and sugar products, you’ll be amazed how much your’ll lose with just cutting down on this. Cut down on salty snacks also. Need a snack, fruits, a handful of nuts and seeds will hold you over. And you need to work out 4-5 times a week, resistance/weight training, aerobics, jogging, walking, biking, just walking everyday will help speed up your metabolism and help you burn body fat and calories. Smaller portions and more exercise!

I’m in a similar boat now, unfortunately. “back in the day” I was about 3 sizes smaller than I am now, and unless I change something soon, I’ll be another size bigger (those “fat pants” as I call them have been getting tight).

So, here’s my game plan & I’ve been working on it for a while:

  1. change my diet - in progress. More fruits, more vegetables, and smaller portions all around. Healthier snacks, too.
  2. Exercise - and this is my sticking point. I can’t seem to fit it in most days, and I”m glued to the computer. Even 45 minutes of walking, 3-5 days a week, will make a huge difference & boost your metabolism.

The trick is, once you increase you lean body mass (aka muscle) you’ll burn more calories, even at rest or sleeping, than you will if you’re not as muscular. So push ups, sit ups, etc, are all on the agenda.

Tell you what: I’ve got about 18 pounds now that I need to lose, and I’ll post an update in a month. I plan on losing 6 pounds this month (by october 10th) and even more the following.

Post your “status update” and we’ll see who gets closer to their goal first, eh?
