Start of with a ‘Teach Yourself’ pack, then move on to Michel Thomas. Finally, spent some time in a country where that is the main spoken language. I’ve learned French, German and Italian that way.

making flashcards of them is how I learned. but I learned them in school. so you might consider getting a book. or internet program. they work well too. good luck!
