How do I learn Sign Language?

How do I go about learning Sign Language? It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn (especially since I’m slowly going deaf, so it would help me in the future also) but I’m unsure how to do so.

I’d like to teach myself preferably (I’m not very social), but if classes would be easier then I suppose I could enroll for some. How else could I learn myself tho? Books? Internet?

you can learn sign language by books, but it isnt the best way because you cant learn the right motions. learning on your own is ok, but its best to learn with a group, i think you should go to a school and learn there and once you learn, theres alot of deaf festivals all around the place, go there, meet people, that way u can also learn more signs

It will be easier to learn yourself, but classes will help you, besides you’ll meet new people
