Can you imagine being fined because your second child was a girl, or for having more than one child?

Must be China you’re talking about. I know, we should consider what a blessing our freedom is.

Why imagine when you can do something to actually have it changed, the more national attention China receives, the higher the likelihood a powerful organization will intervene.

Granted, obviously restricting the amount of children a couple can have is a violation of their rights but, in the long run, for a country like China it is probably better to have these restrictions. There are too many people, particularly in the cities, so it is necessary to try to slow the birth rate. Although, I do agree that it is wrong if there are fines for female children and that it has lead to many couples keeping male children etc rather than female.

You guys are all ignorant to the fact that china was becoming severely overpopulated and had the highest population growth rate that if continued would have destroyed the countrys national resources, causing widespread famine and death and create complete choas. Limiting children is a smart political tactic in order to stunt population growth so the country can be sustainable.

i once read that people in china have three children. one to keep, one to eat, and one to sell.

One so totally rude to call people ignorant even if they are, Any who I never said it was a bad thing. It is smart of them to actually do that cause of all famine and so much children with out parents. It’s heart breaking the limitations on one child is a smart tactic. As i was watching the documentary made me think of how self americans can be being able to have more then one child.

If I was limited to one child I wouldn’t care, it’d make people smart and they wouldn’t take unnecessary risks or have sex so you. I think it’s a smart policy for what they were facing and if the us started to overpopulated I’d do the same thing

There aren’t fines for female children, if anything there would be tax breaks for those people ecause Chinese culture favors boys so there is a huge gender inbalance in china
