How should I help an overweight friend?

My very close friend is obsessed with her weight. Seeing as she is fifteen, she is extremely worried about her body. Her mother has the same body type as her, so clearly genetics is against her. However, whenever she comes over to my house, she loads up on junk food and extremely unhealthy foods. It’s not like I can really tell her this because, well, face it, that would be really rude. I love this girl to death, and I would never want to intentionally hurt her feelings, so is there a way to let her know about her eating habits without it being taken the wrong way?

Answer #2

Encourage her to lose the weight. And tell her that if she wanted to lose her weight that much, that she shouldn’t be stuffing her face with junk food. Tell her that you can watch what she eats, and that she should try working out. Remember to tell her that it’s her decision.

Answer #3

There isn’t much you can do about another person’s weight. If you want to be a helpful friend, constantly remind her how gorgeous she is. Curves are sexy. I know very few people that are attracted to that heroin chic model look (like a skin sack filled with bones… ew). Don’t get onto her for what she eats or how she eats. That isn’t any of your business.

Answer #4

well when she comes over, hide the junk food. tell her yall havent been to the grocery for a while and dont have much food..ask her if she wants to take a walk with you, or do something that is exercise without telling her…clearly is she extremely worried about her body but not trying to do anything about it..she must not care enough to lose the weight and get in shape…maybe you could ask her to join you in the afternoons for a bike ride b/c you dont want to be alone…theres plenty of things you can do to try and help without telling her…but if you are this worried about her..then just tell her that you you are scared that she will get diabetes or something if she doesnt change…
