How can I get motivated to workout?

So im an athlete, if any of you have seen my pics before you might think “wow this guy aint built like an athlete, must not be that good” but trust me, I was my countrys number 1 under 15 shotputter in 2007/8 and I am pretty fast too. I was just wondering, cus I have to workout a lot in the time of the year, but it was only last summer that I started doing athletics seriously, I was just wondering what could I do to be and keep motivatd when I’m working out, like on mondays I go to the gym and on tuesdays I go to the club and do stuff ther, and I do workouts at home too, but how can I keep motivated? Cheers guys

Hi there :) Its great that you’re that active and honesltly you should be very proud of what you do, considering many people have great difficulty even going for walks yet alone gyming. So congrats there! I’m not sure if I have a great answer for you but firstly I think if you want to work out and bulid muscle the first step is to get a gyming buddy.

This makes it easier for you as there will be someone there to make sure that you’re completing your workout without cheatiing yourself as well motivating you by words of encouragement.

The 2nd step would be to draw up a program for yourself and add more gyming days to your calender. By writing down your goals you’re motivated to get in shape, especially when you see the results of your gyming. Think of it as a challenge, eg. Monday 11 January- I did 150 crunches, by next week I WILL be able to do 300 :)

By doing this you’re not only benefiting your body’s health but also your mind. There is nothing better then self power and encouragement from friends.

Goodluck with your fitness <3 :)

what works for me is music… just make a playlist of your favorite music and time just goes flying when you workout
