how can I convince my parents to let me have a gerbil!!!

about a year and a half ago my hamster died and since then I have really wanted another pet. recently I decided that I wanted gerbils but my parents wont let me, I have researched it loads and I have promised to look after it all the time, clean it out every week, play with it every day, find somewhere for it to stay when we go on holiday, even pay for it, its cage, its food ,its vet bills, everything but no they still wont let me have one. and when I ask why they are like you dont have time and you had a hamster that you didnt look after, both arent true I loved my hamster and have so much time free due to lazy friends!!! what can I say or do to show them I really want one and can handle it, (I mean im 13 I think I can look after a couple of tiny gerbils!!!)??? help please, I really want gerbils!!! thanx x

thers isnt a way you can make then decided. Its there desicion and if they dont want you to have one then sadly theres nothing you can do I have the same problem !

I don’t blame your parents - I remember when I was your age I went through the same time, and every time I convinced them I let them down. Somehow you need to prove to them that you are responsible enough to try it out again; clean your room, do chores on time, help around the house, etc.
