How can I ask or hint that I want a baby shower?

My baby is going to be born in the next 4 weeks and no one has offered to throw me a shower. So what do I do I have a little boy and this baby is a girl so I have NOTHING for her. I thought I’ve been hinting pretty well but no one is catching on! LOL

Well my husband got really sick and got surgery so he’s out of work and I’m on bed rest with this baby and a stay at home mommy to my son so I can’t work. So we are very tight right now until my husband gets better so we can’t just go out and buy things for the baby. Until my husband gets his strength back he can’t work! This was very unexpected so that is why it would help us out a ton if we could have a shower. I know that everyone around here says one shower and I agree but I think that if someone has a boy and then another boy no shower but if they have a boy and then a girl or visa versa then they could have another. I don’’t expect toys and all the big stuff just mostly clothes and blankets, diapers. My family lives in another state and all my friends down there all keep asking have you had a shower? And I say no and they would all throw me one but it doesn’t help being far away. And I never got much from my son so I don’t even have all the necessities just for now that he is bigger I have everything he needs but nothing for a newborn or baby .Just some toys, baby tub, play yard. He’s still in his crib!

Answer #2

Proper etiquette is one baby shower, regardless of how many kids you have.

You expect a baby shower for the first child, but never the rest.

The purpose of a baby shower is to help you get a lot of the necessities the baby needs, and since babies grow out of these things so quickly, you should still have everything left from your first baby.

All you should need is some girl clothes, maybe a pacifier and new nipples for your bottles.

tell them

yeah that wont work they would think I was being so rude. They’d say that is bad etiquette.
