Can guinea pigs wait 7 hours to eat?

im planning to buy a two guinea pig so they won’t be alone but i also have school and school is 7 hours. could a guinea pig wait that long to eat?

I’ve never had a guinea pig personally, but a lot of sites I’ve looked through show that people feed their pet once in the morning, once at night. They also mention something about having a lot of hay available for them.

With that plan in mind, I’d think that your guinea pig would be okay until you get home from school. I do think, however, that you should actually go to the pet store and talk to one of the helpful people there to verify that first before you get the pet, though, as they will be able to give you a definite answer. They will also be able to give you tips and advice on the pet otherwise, should you need it.
