dog who eats guinea pig poop?

I have to guinea pigs and a dog and when I play with them the poop and my dog eats it is that normal ?? and is it healthy for him ?

I’ve never heard of a dog that eats guinea pig poo before? I suppose it’s harmless though since dogs eat eachothers or there own sometimes.

I suspect it doesn’t matter to your dog that the poop is from a guinea pig…most likely it was just a matter of having opportunity to eat poop…I have two pomeranian puppies that eat each others poop and it is proving quite difficult to stop the behavior…my vet indicated this is a problem with many small dogs and even some large dogs and the theories as to why this happens are many…lack of nutrition (which isn’t Itsy’s and Bitsy’s problem as they eat a premium dogfood) to emulating the behavior of their mother before they were weaned…eliminating the opportunity may be the only answer…good luck…

Dogs LOVE other animal poop…cat poop (hmmm yummy, Almond Roca to a dog)…horse poop, deer poop, goose poop…they love it all…it’s normal, but try and keep the dog away from it…too much makes them sick.
