Firebelly toads keep dying

I have 4 firebelly toads, One recently completly disappeared and I have no idea how since the aquarium is sealed off, but the problem is that one just died today and I had two firebelly toads last year that also died from unknown reason. I really love these little guys and I would like to take care of them more but I dont know what im doing wrong.

My tank setup is a 35 gallon tank with 4 accessable rocks, a 50 watt daylight bulb, 2 fake plants, I have about 5 gallons of water, which is all poland spring water, and 10 gallon filter, average temp in the tank is about 76 Degrees F, and 50% humidity, last year I had the same exact setup with 2 less rocks and no plants. Also I feed them large crickets, I feed them every other day usually I get a dozen, and every other feeding I put calcium powder on them.

Please tell me whats wrong I only have 2 left and I’m not the type of guy who just wants to run out to the pet store to get new ones when something goes wrong.

I can’t find anything on the internet about that, are you really being serious?

Answer #2

I owened a firebelly toad once. actully I owened two. One ate the other one. That might be why. lol

Answer #3

I had the same thing happen to me with one of my fire belly toads. Turns out he ate too big of a cricket and choaked too death. Mabie you should try using smaller crickets. Also you should only use the vitamins every other feeding or once a week
