Could not drinking coffee for three days, then drinking it again, cause a headache?

I had my wisdom pulled, so I haven’t really been able to drink coffee much. I started drinking it just now, and I have a headache all over. I’m pretty sure it’s not dry socket because there is NO pain in my mouth or around the area what so ever. I know not drinking coffee could cause it, but would starting back up cause it?

Hi Cheryl,

yes, it is possible that the coffee caused your headache. Are you still taking any meds for the pain after you had your tooth removed? Or did you get a high dose of narcotics when you had your tooth removed?

Maybe it’s a side effect of the combination of your meds with the caffeine.

Yeah, you can get sort of addicted to the caffeine and you go through withdrawal when you stop drinking it.
