How can I change this phrase to modern English?

You quote the New International Version (©1984) of the Holy Bible, with the text taken from: the First Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians Chapter 13 Verse 9. . I think it is therefore preferable to preserve the liturgical relevance by using an alternative (and hopefully more modern) translation . In my opinion , the most modern sounding alternative is the:
