I think she will come back. Birds are often startled, but they usually return to their nest anyway.

Answer #5

i dont know, but i have heard that once the eggs get a human scentthe mother doesn’t come back.

Answer #6

Birds usually will come back - in fact some leave specifically to try to lure you away from the nest. (Killdeer, for example, are famous for running away and faking a broken wing if you approach the nest) Some types of birds fledge (leave the nest) in a week, but most take two or more weeks, it’s hard to say. If it was some species of sparrow, it’s possible that it may have fledged in a week. Also, mother birds will NOT abandon eggs or young if they are touched. Birds (aside from some vultures) have no sense of smell. If you find a baby bird on the ground, it is perfectly ok to pick up the bird, gently, and place it back in the nest.

Answer #7

yes. as long as you didnt touch the egg.
