Jazlovestoskate, asking the boss directly is not the way to go; it will only make things messier and unbearable for the poster of this question. Also, seeking answers and feedbacks from other work colleagues is a definitely NO NO…..Gossips travels fast in a work environment and the next day when she comes to work, every department and divisions will know there is conflict between the boss and her, if they were not aware of it, they are now :( … No a good idea at all.

Maybe your boss is afraid you will leave and find another job. You obviously already proved to him you can do your work well and the two pay increases illustrates your ability. He could be playing smart and is trying to throw you off the radar to make you think you are replaceable but in fact you are indispensable. Which is an awesome position to be in for you, as you have the bargaining power to negotiate for an even better salary down the track as noone can do your job as good as you. :)

Answer #2

Well the fact that you have gotten 2 pay rises means he dosent have a problem with your ‘work’, in fact he obviously thinks you are doing a very good job. And if he really didn’t like you, then he would fire you. so it must be just that he likes to pretend he dosent need you, some men do that, they don’t like a woman being more able than them. Its totally oldschool, but they still do it. Hes just proving to himself that he dosent need you (but he actually does). He must be very insecure.

Answer #3

maybe he doesnt like giving you a pay rise, but you got two! and im sure he doesnt hate you, cause if you did you wouldnt have a job :)

Answer #4

I think he may feel threatened. You have to show him that you respect him and that you know he is in the position of authority. That will allow him to feel secure and that will secure your position. Being too smart is not necessarily a good thing. And never believe you are irreplacable because that’s when you might start get into a headset that will end up costing you your job.
