How to tell your boss you want to quit your job nicely and when?

k so I’m going to move to my dad’s and I have a job here I really would like to quit so my dad doesn’t have to drive me back and forth plus I don’t like it. the thing is I don’t know when to tell my boss that I want to quit and why I want to. my boss is friends with my mom who hates my dad and my mom doesn’t know I want to move(yet) should I tell my boss in person or by phone? and should I just randomly during work go up to her and say yea I’m moving to my dad’s so I want to quit? that seems sorta rude…I mean this woman is paying me under the table and treats me well and pays me well and so I want to do this nicely and after I tell my mom of course.

Well.. tell your mum first. Ande if plans go ahead and you actually do move to your dads then find out if there are any jobs going nearby your dads house.

If not & it comes to you having to pay dig money then I say you should just stick in with the job. A job is a job, you have a nice boss and everything. Why just quit?

If you really DO need to quit, then just say to the boss that you want a word with her privately and that it’s important. When you have a moment alone with her, tell her that you are handing in your 2 weeks notice and that you are moving.

She’ll be fine with it if you just explain to her that you are resigning from the post. She’ll understand, don’t worry :)

two weeks before in writing. you don’t have to say why– oh wait I read more, under the table? Keep it. Why? You need the reference for the future kiddo. And no taxes make it easier.
