Why does this happen when I run?

I’m a 15 boy, about 6 foot 2, and 300 pounds, when I run I get this burning feeling in my legs that I can’t stand, and I have to do the Mile Run under 12 minutes in High School and I can’t, the burning is too painful, what should I do to prevent this burning?

Answer #1

Yeah, it’s burning because your body isn’t used to it and you’re probably out of shape.. Once you do it more often, it won’t burn as much. And definitely warm up before running.

Answer #2

Well I think it could have something to do with weight. Or the way your weight shifts on your feet. which can have an effect on your legs. Maybe you’re running on your toes which makes your calves strain more. Which is gonna hurt much much more. Check to make sure you arent doing that while running. If that doesn’t work, I suggest you go to your local pharmacy and get Dr sholls. In almost every pharmacy they have these machines that can personalize what your feet need. Then you can buy those shoe gel things and that should hopefully make it easier on your legs. Also strech like the above said. Another thing is that you could be out of shape and your legs aren’t used to it. so it could work to practice.

Answer #3

Stretch properly beforehand and practice running.
