Why does it say I'm obese on a body fat calculator?

im not obese at all, I woldnt even say I was fat! im 98 lbs and im 5 foot but apparently I have like 35% body fat and im obese!!! maybe I did it wrong.. how do I find out how much body fat I have in %?

How was your percentage body fat determined? It is hard for me to believe that at 98 lbs. that you are 35% body fat.

When I took conditioning class in college there was one woman in class who was very petite and slender who ended up having a higher percentage of body fat than some of the women in class who had tummys. In her case she had very little muscle.

If you are similar to her your problem may not be too much fat but not enough muscle.

In any case, I’d seek another body fat analysis; some methods are very unreliable. If it turns out that you do have a higher percentage of body fat than is healthy than you probably need a good resistance exercise program more than loosing fat.

you are not fat ,if you checked your BMI right then it should say your about a 19.1 which is normal weight for someone in your height and weight ,but I wouldn’t try to loose any more weight and to check your BMI just go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
