Why are people trying to make me feel bad for wearing makeup?

I love makeup. I don’t think I wear too much, but I do wear it to school. But like lately a lot of people have been making me feel bad for making makeup. They say that I should just look natural. I have no problem going out makeup free. I just prefer wearing makeup because it enhances features. Is it wrong to like to wear makeup?

Depends on the makeup sweetie. And your age. See…you don’t appreciate the skin/body/etc… you have when you’re a teen. You’ll look back and wish you had it when you hit your 30’s.

Advice from a woman that loved wearing makeup as a teen?

Get some of that new mineral foundation. You can get a great one from Urban Decay for about 30 bucks. Seems like a lot but it lasts for almost a whole year using it everyday. It’s great stuff and great for your skin. Covers well for blemishes and doesn’t leave you looking like you have a make up ring on your jaw or that you slathered on pancake batter to your face.

Secondly…don’t overdo it on the eye makeup. Get a good eyeliner (Covergirl does good ones and you can get it at Wal-mart), a neutral tone eyeshadow, mascara (I recommend the new Lash Stiletto). Get an eyelash curler and get your eyebrows waxed. Eyebrows are often overlooked but they are the frame for your whole face. Pay attention to them. A good eyebrow wax can be gotten at nearly any nail salon for under 10 bucks. Mary Kay has a great eyebrow powder duo that lasts forever. I bought mine about three years ago and it’s still going. A little more pricey but again, worth it for how long it lasts.

Now if you like dramatic lipstick (reds, burgundies) then do a subtle eye. If you like lighter shades for your lips, glosses and such, then you can play up your eyes.

Being young you really can skip the blush. Your cheeks will make it’s own because of the blood that naturally will go to them. But if you do it get one that is close to your normal flushed shade (like after you have ran or gotten really hot). Get a BIG soft brush for the blush. Swirl it a bit then tap excess off before you apply. Smile REAL BIG and sweep the brush from the highest point of those rounded cheeks up toward your hairline. You won’t have to do much with this. Keep it light. You don’t want a huge red streak. Then blend blend blend.

The trick to wearing makeup is to make it LOOK like you haven’t done that much when you have. I promise.. follow the above and you’ll get tons of compliments and people will stop picking at you.

I hate it when people do this to other girls, and the truth is that they actually dont have the right! I wear make-up all the time apart from a sunday when I stay at home and I think make-up is great to boost confidence and cover up flaws that I have :) so take no notice im sure they are just jealous and dont forget make-up comes off with a wipe so its not a big deal :) xx

I don’t really use makeup to cover up my flaws, I don’t use foundation or concealer. Just eye makeup and blush from time to time. :) Thanks girls!

I wear makeup to hide my flaws, who cares if they comment on your makeup, if you think you look good then you are I think an attracting thing is being confident if they Do talk about you then they must be jealous cause your so mighty pretty(:

Answer #6

if you like it wear it you sud be happy as long as your not wearing clown make up its fine

Answer #7

Theres nothing wrong with wearing makeup, I think either they are jealous that they don’t look good with it, or they just don’t wear it and understand it. I have wore makeup since I was 13, and I have ever since. Don’t worry about what people say about you. Only God can judge you. :]
