Who knows if 15 years old is an appropriate age to get liposuction?

I would like to point out that I believe am a very mature fifteen year old. My weight is 150,bouncing up and down a few pounds for my efforts to shed the belly fat. I have a very bulging, discusting stomach. I have stretch marks on my hips and legs. Although, I am a pretty healthy teenager. my reasons for wanting this surgery are the following;I have clothes that dont fit me as I would like them to. I hate my apperance and I do not like looking at myself in the mirror. I never have had the confidence that I would like to have. I believe I have low self esteem because of my stomach. Also I would like to point out that I have never had the pleasure of showing off a bikini body in public. I do believe I am slightly over weight. I would like to have a mini lipo. Mini lipo has only one cut from hip to hip. It also costs less than a full liop. I was wondering if 15 is too young to have lipo surgery on my stomach. I understand the risks that comes along with this such as things like blood clotting, needs for second surgeries, death(ect.) so I think that if I had the opprutunity to have this done,I would do it. I keep in mind I am a minor. Only 15 but I feel mature enougf,I will deal with the pain, take the risks, and I want lipo for all of the right reasons. I feel as I should be treated as an adult would with this surgery.

that is ridiculous. Your 15! Your body still has a lot of changing to do. it has nothing to do with maturity either. As you get older you could loose weight. I remember people that were fat in high school now are skinny, and some people who were skinny are now huge. Things change. And I personally think using liposuction is a lazy way to loose weight. 150 lbs isnt that big, you could drop that yourself but you need to make an effort. If you think your so mature then you should act mature and take the responsibility of dieting and exercising everyday. And you could loose weight and be toned also. liposuction is for lazy a$$es. the easy way out isnt always the best way out either, you could get the lipo but since you dont diet or anything like that you’ll just gain weight back, its not a permanent fix. But like I said your only 15, and your only 150 lbs. Just do it yourself and dont slack off. its not hard.

I’m sure you can find a doctor who will do it for you. But keep in mind that lipo is a temporary solution. If you don’t permanently change your eating habits, it’ll come right back.

(proper weight is 80% about eating and 20% about exercise).

you know, if you’re that unhappy with the way you look and if you feel like you’d be more confident, then I would definitely go for what you want. Its a lot of work though and yeah, you are young, but I dont think that its fair that you cant be confident. I’d say go for it! :)

Answer #4

Since you are a minor I think you’ll need to have parental consent to get the surgery. I don’t know for sure though. But why don’t you just exercise and eat healthy and lose weight that way? It would be much easier and less trouble

Answer #5

you all are very helpful and let me see all different view points about this. thanksss.

Answer #6

so then would a tummy nip/tuck be more acceptable?

Answer #7

First, you’re too young, second, you don’t weigh enough… I’m pretty sure you have to be at least 100 pounds over weight.

Answer #8

You are WAY to young and you are not even but ten pounds heavier than you should be. If you want to lose weight, you should take up a sport or at least workout everyday. Dont consider surgery until you are 100+lbs overweight
