Who ever knows english law...is it possible to avoid a hostel?

Right here is the thing.. Im 15 and 7 months. My ‘mum’ says when im 16 im out on my arse (wouldnt be the first time)…only thing is I seriously dont have anywhere to go now… Do you think it is possible to avoid going into a hostel and just gettinga flat off social servcies (im already on danger list and have social worker etc etc..) I will be homeless in 5 months… Does anyone know away round it ?? X

erm I was allowed to when I was 16 but as you cant get housing benefit untill your 18 and you cant claim any benefit like job seekers allowance till your 18 either you will need a job to pay your rent, rates, water bill, food, gas, electric etc etc

you will need around a 12 to 16 grand a year job to be ok

hold on let me just double check…

looks like you might be able to get housing benefit:

from the council site::

‘If you’re single and aged under 25 you can only get Housing Benefit for bed-sit accommodation or one room in shared accommodation.’

so what this means is that they will pay you to live in a YMCA or a hostel…

I dont know what city your from but if you look here: www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/Localcouncils/index.htm

and find your local council and give em a call or walk in and ask to speak a housing officer and they will give you all yourt options

hope you get summmet sorted :)
