When. Should I go on the pill?

I am 20 and am strongly considering taking birth control. My period is kind of long and heavy and I always get killer back pains and cramps. Plus, my boyfriend and I are considering having sex and I have always been nervous of just using condoms because I worry about getting preggers. I hear that it is possible to still get pregnant while on the pill. How likely is this if I use it along with a condom? Are there any other pros/cons? Please help! : )

DO NOT GO ON THE PILL. My dad is a docter and not just him but many have confirmed that the birth control is not safe, it can cause many things one involving pancreotic cancer, e.t.c, and also in some cases it can make any future births have mant defects and even result in your baby being born dead. You should never take something that is not provingly safe, even remotly. A condom is the best way to go. just make sure it duznt break or fall off during sex, if you do get preggers, well that is a consequence that any of us ask for and know about when having early age sex

With a condom: there is chance, I’m not going to lie about that. But there’s only a REALLY small chance, I believe that was like 01% or something. The pill can help, but you gotta be careful to take it every day. And what I should do, just to make sure: have a morning-after pill at home. If something brakes, or you forgot to take something use that. ;) Hope I helped.
