whats a face toner?

my neighbor told me to get rid of black heads is to squeeze them than use a toner?

A toner is used to calm skin and shrink pores. If you are squeezing out your blackheads you are agitating your skin and forcing your pore open and blackheads out. Using a toner can help shrink back your pores closing it.

Usually, a toner is used in a three-step regime: cleanse, tone, moisturize. I’d, personally, advise against an alcohol-containing toner as they can be rather harsh for the skin and can strip your face of oils ultimately leading to the production of more oils clogging your skin and causing acne or blackheads.
