What would happen to an acid's pH if diluted?

If water is added to an acid will its pH be changed? Take for example water added to vinegar. Will its pH change

Answer #1

If you add water to something, the pH will lower if it is basic, like above the pH of 7. It will rise if the pH is below 7. In order to get an accurate dilution, you need to use distilled water because the chemicals in regular water changes the substance.

Answer #2

PH will go up (at 25℃) and close to 7 ,but never be 7.

Answer #3

It’s pH would become neutral.

Answer #4

I believe if it is diluted the pH content will go down. Not to sure though.
