I have a collection agency that leaves nasty messages on my home phone so that anyone can hear, is this legal?

They can be nasty, and they can threaten you with litigation. They also have the right to keep harassing you until they get their money.

You can file a complaint, but it won’t help you. You’ll end up in court and the judge will rule that you owe them money and you have to pay it.

I suggest you pay your bills.

take them to the police… tell them you feel intimidated/threatened and you want to make a complaint
