What to do with a weepy wound on the top of my foot?

Yesterday I was on a zipwire in the park and my shoe fell off so my foot dragged against the ground, when I had got off, I realised that I’d grated alot of skin off the top of my foot, it was red and dark pink with a white bit in the centre, shortly after spots of blood began coming through and it was bleeding lots. I went home and my mum washed it for me and put a plaster on. I went out to my friends house and it was weeping through the plaster, so I changed it when I got home, and then I woke up this morning and it had gone through the plaster again, so I left it, and took the plaster off this evening which was quite painful as it had stuck to the wound. I didn’t have any big enough plasters left (It’s about the size of a two pound coin) so I put a wound dressing on that I had in a first aid kit. I have that on now, but it still stings, and I can’t walk on it very well. I don’t know what exactly I should do, as I need it to heal pretty quickly as I have a final GCSE dance moderation in two days and I don’t think I can dance like it is, is there anything I could do to help it?

Answer #1

I suggest just keeping it clean and using a topical ointment like Polysporin.

Answer #2

When you can, leave it open to the air, too.
