Is it bad to wear your hair in a ponytail every day?

Answer #1

I don’t see why it would effect your hair if you wore it up every day. If anything, the constant pulling of the hair tie would promote growth as it stimulates the hair folicles?

Answer #2

If u pull to tight it does the opposite……..

Answer #3

if u wear a drawstring then no it isn’t bad. If anything you will get bored with the hairstyle.

Answer #4

No, unless you start to get headaches everyday… that happen to me I always had my hair up but it couldn’t be a loose pony tail it had to be really tight so I had a lot of headaches especially since I am a very hyper active person joking & laughing LOL so now I wear my hair more down then up… but NO nothing wrong with have it up every day (:

Answer #5

It depends, if you are using scrunchies then no its not that bad for your hair but normal hair ties causes the hair to break and can prevent it from growing normally. My mom wears her hair up all the time and because of it her hair is destroyed. She had beautiful hair before hand. Just limit how often you wear your hair up or try a scrunchie

Answer #6

I did not know that… I thought it was just rubber bands that do that… I learned something new.! :)

Answer #7

depends what you use to tie it and how tight it is. Never use a rubber band to tie your hair up as it will break the hair strands- not to mention it’s pretty painful to pull out! Always use a real hair tie and never tie it too tight or the hair may snap. Never ever tie your hair up when it’s wet or damp, as wet hair is very elastic and will stretch, then when you tie it it will dry stretched and will very likely snap in some places. Tying your hair up all the time can also result in headaches or a sore scalp so just be aware of that. Usually, if you get a headache related to your ponytail it will go away when you wash your hair and let it sit out.

Answer #8

That’s why you don’t pull too tight… XD

Answer #9

i think it makes ur hair kinda wavey?

Answer #10

is that a bad thing?? lol

Answer #11

Answer #12

Oh! So maybe that’s why my hair would never grow longer than 15 or 18 inches? (I don’t keep it that long any more, but did for many years.)

Answer #13
