What are some good ways to help someone stop procrastinating?

Encouragement is the key. If someone’s procrastinating, encourage them to do it. Let them know the benefits of getting it done sooner than later. (ex: getting it out of the way and having tons of free time later.) If you have a child that procrastinates, you could always try using incentives as well, like having their favourite treat after supper or going somewhere fun after they’re done.

If that doesn’t work, talk to them about it. Sometimes people procrastinate when they don’t understand the work or have reached some kind of difficulty. Offer to help, if you know how, or help them find resources that will help them do their work on their own.
