How do you deal with panic at.tacks?!?!

i deal with these all the time. just relax and breath talk to someone vocually about anything. keep your mind off of you. just take deap breaths. they only last like 30sec but feel like forever

Just calm them down. If you act calm it’ll affect them alot. They can actually last for hours if it’s really bad. I used to get them all the time. Get them something to drink? tell them to take deep breaths, and in reality nothing is going to happen. just remind them that it’ll pass over like a storm. :) just relax and it’ll help them relax too.

If the above answer doesn’t work, there is always certain medications you can ask your doctor about (or therapist if you have one). There are certain medications called benzodiadapines (spelled wrong) that can help in worst case scenarios. Valium, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax..to name a few. But they can become habit forming so you would only want to use these or ask about these if nothing else helps. I get panic and anxiety at.tacks too and a lot of the time they last a lot more than 30 seconds. Everyone is different. You just have to find what works for you. Research it on the internet as well if you would want to know more about treating and preventing panic at.tacks.

my boyfriend takes me for walks. I usually feel an overwhelming need to run away from wherever it occurs and since its not a good idea for me to go running off by myself but he finds it hard to stop me, he just comes too. That way he can make sure I am ok and the walk calms me down better than anything else.

I get them all the time mostly in public places. I find concentrating on a calming thought and slowing ur breathing to a “normal” pace works best. and i DO NOT recemend medications of any kind there a chemical crutch and ppl rely on them to often and then don’t know how to handle themselves when there “outa meds”
