The temperature at 8:00 am was64○F .From midnight to 8:00am,the temperature had changed -3○F per hour .What was the temperature at midnight
Answer #1

At 8 o’clock is 64 degree. Each hour before 8AM the temperature is 3 degrees lower. Then the answer is 64-24 = 40 degree at midnight. Please let me know I am not sure, my math is BAD.

This isn’t a case of someone just too lazy to do her own homework - she’s having trouble understanding the question…have tolerance.

Answer #3

If the temperature at 8am was 64 degrees, then what was the temperature at midnight if the temperature dropped 3 degrees each hour?

Basically, you have to add the 3 degrees per hour, because you’re calculating in reverse…so 3 degrees over the span of 8 hours = 24, which you add to the 64…your answer is 88.
