ok…I’LL TRY |x^2-1|-1=3x-2 |x^2-1|=3x-2+1 |x^2-1|=3x-1

x^2-1 =3x-1
x^2 =3x-1+1
x^2 =3x
x^2 -3x=0
x(x-3 )=0
x=0;x=3

-(x^2-1 ) =3x-1

x^2=3x-1-1
x^2=3x-2 0= x^2+3x-2 oh…use the quadratic formula x=[-b +/- (b^2 - 4ac)^1/2 ] /2a x=[-3 +/- (3^2 - 41-2)^1/2 ] /2*1 x=[-3 +/- (9+8)^1/2 ] /2 x=[-3+(9+8)^1/2] /2 or x=[-3-(9+8)^1/2] /2
