Yes it is true. Since so much garbage and pollutants is put into our oceans, the coral is dying. I wouldn’t be surprised if the coral reefs are gone sooner then later.

There are many, many factors threatening the existence of coral reefs, and most of those factors are due to human activities like offshore mining, fishing, and of course the changing temperature of the oceans from climate change (coral reefs are highly responsive to fluctuations in temperature and salinity). The majority of the world’s coral reefs are under threat of extermination, however, there are considerable efforts being made to protect, preserve, and restore coral reefs from the Red Sea to Australia.
