Why did they stop playing softball in the summer olympics?
It was played in the last Olympics (Peking 2008) but, at least for the foreseeable future, it has been discontinued.
The reason is thought to be that it was withdrawn because the USA was becoming too dominant, and it was no longer a real competition.
A bit like awarding a Gold medal for the team with the best Stars & Stripes flag.
