stonehenge mayans and alieins!

does any body think its weird that the myans predicted a bunch of stuff and like alighned stuff with the sun and the constalations and north and south the mayans had to be like alieans because we didnt have all of the math that they used and suff… and stonehenge like how did they get the blocks there when the nearest place were they were to be found was like a million miles away… do you get what im saying>we had to have had some kinda help!

Answer #1

No. The geometry and astronomy knowledge the mayans have been shown to posess are well within the reach of a culture such as theirs. No need to invoke aliens. Likewise, for stonehenge - yes, it’s a wee way to the closest quarry, but it’s merely difficult, not intractable.

Certainly it’s far more plausible that they simply put in a lot of effort than it is that aliens visited earth for the sole purpose of erecting some odd structures, leaving without leaving behind any solid evidence.

Answer #2

Not necessarily weird - older civilizations - some of them are still being discovered - have been shown to have known advanced mathematics - including geometry - and astronomy. After all, they weren’t necessarily stupid - their brain size was about the same as ours, for one thing, and there were often special priestly classes who devoted their entire lives to study.

As for Stonehenge, the nearest quarrying sites weren’t all that far away, and modern replica experiments have shown that - just as with the Pyramids - expert use of available techniques like weights/counterweights and leverage could have done the trick.

Answer #3

When the world doesn’t end in 2012, will you concede that the Mayans weren’t aliens with super knowledge?

Answer #4

you have to think during them times all they had to do was study and learn they didnt have all of the entertainment we have now!
