Should I get my birds wings clipped?

Okay so I have 2 budgies, they’re about 7 months old (1 boy and girl). I got them half a year ago and have started taming them about a week ago. Everytime I get them out of the cage they fly of my finger and around the room. It takes me about 15 minutes to catch them again. I really want to get their wings clipped so it will be easier to tame them, but my mom says that its best not to cut their wings. I don’t know what to chose, can you please help me?

It’s best to have their wings clipped while they are training. Clipping the wings won’t hurt the birds. It will make it safer to train them because if they are allowed to lfy around the room, they could hurt themselves. After they are trained, you won’t have to clip their wings again and they will be able to fly again as soon as their feathers grow back.

Agreed with sshaw

We have 3 parrots and all of their wings are clipped. It isn’t sore and it just keeps them from flying into stuff and hurting themselves (they don’t do it often because they are tamed.

Just PLEASE get it done professionally, by a vet or a bird breeder, because you can EASILY hurt the bird if you do it yourself.
