short tounge...can I get it pierced

hey I want to get my tounge pierced.my mom is cool with it.but my tounge is short.can I still get it pierced?and besides I’ve heard rumors that you can get paralyzed if you get it pierced the wrong way help please

I don’t think it matters if your tounge is short. My friend just got hers peirced and her tounger couldn’t be any shorter. The peircing is a little closer to the top of her tounger though. It does look a little wierd.

no matter what length your tounge is its going to be able to be peirced and yes, that isnt a rumour its a very very rare thing to happen, but it does mostly from backyard jobs though or if you do it yourself, get a friend to do it, ect when your dont know what your doing or were to do it theres a nerve there that if hit can paralize your tounge and you can loose all feeling in that part, that side, or the whole thing is done bad enough just like theres a nerve in your eyebrow that if hit will cause the eyebrow to droop a lot lower than your other side again though, these things are extremely uncommon so if you get it professionally dont you shouldn’t have to worry

The length of your tongue does not matter. You will be able to get it pierced.

That rumor is completely false. I worked in a tattoo/piercing parlor. Not once did anyone get paralyzed from a tongue piercing. The worst that happens if is the person get’s an infection from not taking care of it properly, or the scar that remains after it’s taken out in the future, or the chipped teeth some people get from it banging on their teeth all day.
