Yes it does exist but some professionals are skeptical about it. It is said that it is related to dissociative identity disorder but there are a few subtle differences. Multiple Personality Disorder is when a persons personality splits into many alters to help deal with stress and dissociative identity disorder is like a response to stress. The person drifts into a dreamlike state and more than one personalities appear. However the person isnt aware of these personalities. A reason why professionals debate about the disorder is because it comes from a long time age, the 1800’s time and they believe that there was enough time for the disorder to be wiped out. But yes, overall it exists.

Yes, according to many psychologist, theirs multiple personality disorder. One that I recently did a research on was “Dissociative Identity Disorder.”

It’s still controversial, although it has made its way into the DSM. I personally am still on the fence about it. It is incredibly rare, and really very little research has been done on it.
