Can obesity at a young age cause certain facial features to change from what they would have originally been?

My litter sister was extremely obese when she was younger and still growing and now she has a wide flat, kind of pig nose and no one in my family has a nose like that so is it possible her nose became like that from all the excess fat she had on her face?

Answer #1

Whoah! I’ve never thought about it, but I guess it’s possible. I mean, clearly facial features change on larger people, and when they get smaller I’m sure they don’t just shrink up.

Answer #2

Actually that is a very practical hypothesis it is very possibly the case, as we gain weight all ou body is effected, arm’s, leg’s, stomach, face ect. If she was slightly on the larger side and then lost some weight her facial features would have already been stretched out and developed new form or shape and i suppose it wouldn’t exactly just morph back to normal so im agreeing with your theory and the most likely answer is yes.

Answer #3

obesity is a % regarding body mass index and fat… structure is bone and genetics fundemtally… granted if you put regions of your body under duress stress then it possibly could have an effect? but physically most common issues are skin elasticity, stretch marks and regaining former external factors. this is, however, regarding young age, once you get older the proteins found in the skin reduce, thus making it harder for the skin to recover. and in answer to your question directly… no one can ever answer that… for how would you know what would or wouldn’t have been? very philosophical question.
