Why do news channels on the radio make such a big deal out of the weather?

not what i’m talking about. i’m speaking of when they do the warning noise and bla bla. it’s rain and wind maybe penny size hail still it’s nothing that bad to interrupt my music for errrr errrrr errrrr please be advised all you pu$$ies but it’s water falling from the sky run for your lives announcement

Oh, because they’re obligated to do so I believe. Make sure people drive safely and be prepared for bad weather.

I kind of get irritated with them when they describe a high heat high humidity day as “beauuuuuuutiful out there, folks” while they’re lounging around in air conditioning and meanwhile it’s so humid that our cats are lying so flat they look like they’ve been steam-rolled.
