How to lose 20lbs in a safe way?

Hey everyone hope you’re doing well, My name’s Drake I’m a Senior in High School just got accepted to WSU I’m 17 and I’m about 5’ 10 and weigh around 180. I’m getting annoyed with how I’ve been eating lately and I can see if I continue this way I will gain even more weight. My thighs bug the hell out of me.

My mom has been pissing me off a lot saying I’m getting on the border line of fat which is probably true but it’s setting me over the edge. I’m almost at the point of not eating or eating very little daily until I lose the 20 lbs. I hear this is border line Anorexia if I continue and I’ll just gain all the weight back so I don’t want to do it really.

I’ve been exercising 30 mins a day burning 500 cals per session and I’m wondering is this enough to lose the lbs? How long will it take? What should I eat / how many calories (minimum) should I have a day to not gain it back again? I already know all about carbs no oily stuff, no junk basically I think I can handle that so no point in mentioning those.

If you want to lose weight you should take in 500 calories below what it takes to maintain your bodyweight. What it takes to maintain depends on many factors. If you go to www.caloriecount.about.com it can tell you how many calories you would need to maintain or lose based on those factors. Membership is free.

well if you dont want to just stop eating but lose it fast then exercise like go for a 30 minet walk when you wake up then like 30 minets later have some fruit or somthing like non butterd tost for breakfast the every 3 hours have somthin small like a snack serving of crackers or a bananna then for dinner somthing small but try to eat a least 3 hours before you go to bed couse thats wheir a lot of people gain their weight is eating or not giving their food enouf time to go through before going to bed oh and exercise like after a couple hours after dinner thats how a fue of my friends lost weight

I’ve dropped 30lbs. in a month before. It wasn’t really hard. I just ate whatever I wanted once a day. I worked out everyday (cardio,weights) and worked and 8 hour shift in a factory. It wasn’t that bad, and I kept the weight off as long as I went to the gym and didn’t freak out on food on the weekends and stuff. As far as being healthy, I nver got sick, but I’m not a doctor either.
